Why the hell not….
If my last post wasn’t clear – I’m NOT going to stop posting or running. I am just not motivated to do either one at the moment, making the idea of posting about running…daunting. But I’m not going anywhere. Because I don’t want to think about this past year, how about I give you the nice report wordpress gave me? Yes, that’s what I’ll do. – Ed.
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 120,000 times in 2011. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 5 days for that many people to see it.
Click here to see the complete report.

That is very cool. I also use WordPress, but apparently I don’t have the stats helper because I never received any such report. Is it free or do you have to pay for it? Congrats on the 120,000 visitors…that’s a LOT!
Well, I don’t pay for anything so…it’s gotta be automatically generated somewhere. By something.
I would guess most of those people found me when googling “awesome.”
Alright, I will try to figure out how to get it because I want a fancy schmancy report as well.
And duh, you’re totally awesome so a lot of other awesome people were bound to find your blog!!!!!!!!
Do you have the stats page? There is a link you can click to get it!
You’re popular, maybe I should get fat and stop running…O WAIT I ALRADY DID.
I switched over to a new host in June but still use the WP platform, so i got TWO half-reports…rendering both of them essentially useless. Also my blog sucks ass now because my brain has turned to mush. HAPPY NEW YEAR. XO
My brain is kind of mushy too. Which is bad since I really have to get some work done too. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
this is about yesterday: In college I was friends with some guys that were on the track team. Fast. Like sub 14 for 5K. For the most part, they all stopped serious training and have probably done maybe 5 “I’m really going to work for this” races tops in the last 6 years. It used to bother me, until I realized that the reason it bothered me was because it made me wonder if others saw not-really-any-good me wasting time taking my hobby too seriously. Maybe there is such a thing as caring too little or too much, but in general, I don’t think you or the average person should have to explain or justify the times when they just don’t give a crap about a hobby. except… KEEP BLOGGING!!!
and today: Could you figure out how to see how many visits you got from other countries? I saw the percentages, but I want to know if my Argentinian and South African hits were one-offs or regulars.
I think a large part of my frustration is watching a lot of others I know – mostly locally – improve by ridiculous margins. Like, watching a 4:00 marathoner become a 3:15 and a 3:45 becoming a 2:50 when I used to beat them both by comfortable margins. Part of it is the knowledge that I’ve probably run as fast as I’m gonna get based on my build/shitty lungs, but another part of it is I just…don’t…have the drive that they do. For some reason the later smarts more than the former and for the life of me, I don’t know why.
I couldn’t! I do have stat counter though which gives me a full breakdown.
“Some visitors came searching, mostly for awesome, awesome pictures, angry runner, awesome pics, and i am awesome.” And clearly they were very satisfied with what they found.
ALSO I was going to suggest this be the year we both apply for a Chocolate Milk grant AND to be FitFluential Ambassadors, but I’m guessing you’re not interested, right? But if you were still into running, you would be, right? RIGHT???
I couldn’t apply for the chocolate milk grant – I think chocolate milk is putrid!
Silly you, you don’t have to drink it to shill it!
Unfortunately, I do have SOME principles.
The search term thing made me LOL. I loved that macro post too. Keep posting AR!
Ha! I just read my wordpress stat report today. (It must be free/automatic…it just showed up on the dashboard.) All the people who viewed my blog could fit into 52 San Francisco cable cars! So, uh, not really in the six figures
Congratulations on your awesome blog, and glad you’re going to keep it up.
Have a post called “I am Awesome.” That is the majority of my traffic. People are full of themselves!
That made me laugh pretty hard. How are that many people googling “I am awesome”? On the other hand it’s somehow comforting to know that – whatever my blog statistics might say – at least *some* people are looking for something other than naked pictures of female runners.
